KIT-CAB

It always happens this way. You walk into Swedish box to get ideas and you walk out with 4 six-foot long boxes that don’t really fit into your car.

Thankfully, Pointy Shoes & Broken Thumbs’ roommate drives a van and was awake enough to help us take our new purchases home.

Why is our kitchen so messy, you ask?

Well, that’s because we’re making room for our newly installed kitchen pantry cabinets. Upon perusing the Swedish 2013 catalog, she discovered a new configuration of cabinets that Best suited the space.

With 7 feet of cabinetry (vs. 6 feet before), the kitchen feels taller and spacious. It’s easier to find things in our 15″ deep cabinets and our appliances fit perfectly.

What’s that white on the right? That’s the old cabinet blocking your view of the refrigerator.

As for cabinet doors, sliding doors, door handles, open cabinets… Cabinet doors from Swedish box costs the same as the carcasses, which also require handles = $$$. Open cabinets are great but collect dust and oil plus there’s potential for eyesores. Sliding doors require lots of hardware and have many options. Not to mention we haven’t figured out what to do about above-refrigerator cabinetry. So for now, we’re happy to leave it at that.
